Make the process easier with this no scrub, no squeegee, no streak solution! Most commercial window cleaning products do not list ingredients on the label. Amazingly, manufacturers aren’t even required to name the chemicals used on their product’s Safety Data Sheet, some list “proprietary formula” or nothing at all.

With ingredients like Sodium Dodecylbenzene Sulfonate, Lauramine Oxide, and Ammonium Hydroxide, we have a right to know what we’re exposing ourselves, our families, and our environment to.

Liquid Ingredients

VinegarVinegar, a mild acid, is made through the natural fermentation of various fruits, vegetables, and grains. Handle with care as it can cause irritation or evening burning when undiluted. Vinegar helps break up mineral deposits such as lime.

Isopropyl alcohol, also known as rubbing alcohol, is a byproduct of the oil refining process combined with water. It’s recommended for external use in first aid to help prevent infection in minor cuts, scrapes, and burns. An organic solvent, isopropyl alcohol helps dissolve other substances. BoraxBorax is a naturally occurring mineral. There has been much debate as to the safety of Borax, however all concerns that can be substantiated are in regards to high levels of ingested Borax. My Window Cleaning Experience

I was determined to get my windows clean. They looked so awful! Foolishly I did this on a hot day around noon. I know, crazy.

I couldn’t believe how well these few simple ingredients cleaned my yucky windows. I didn’t even rinse the windows first, just wiped on the solution with my microfiber mop and rinsed.

After the first window I was so excited with the results that I zipped around the house removing window screens and giving them a quick blast with the hose. Then a wipe of the solution on the windows and a rinse. That was it! It was so nice looking at such clean windows.

I have to admit by the last window the excitement started to wear off. Especially when I realized I still needed to come up with a cleaner for the inside of the windows. That’s another post though…
